Agrees to sign with Lakers

Williams (foot) and the Lakers agreed on a one-year contract Monday, per Dan Woike of The Athletic.

Analysis

After spending the past two seasons with the Nets, Williams is joining the Lakers to help provide depth on the wing. The fifth-year swingman is likely to compete with Dalton Knecht, Jarred Vanderbilt and rookie first-rounder Cameron Carr (thumb) for reserve minutes during the 2026-27 campaign, so it remains to be seen how much fantasy relevance Williams will have.
