Won't play in All-Star Game
James told reporters that he will not participate in Sunday's All-Star Game Tournament due to discomfort in his foot and ankle, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis
James has been regularly listed on the Lakers' injury report since early December due to left foot injury management and most recently a left ankle injury. He's been able to play in all but one of the Lakers' games since the beginning of January, and over that span he has averaged 25.6 points, 9.1 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals over 33.9 minutes per game while shooting 54.5 percent from the field. James told reporters Sunday that he was hoping to feel good enough to play in the All-Star Game tournament but that it was more important to avoid aggravating an injury ahead of the Lakers' final stretch of the regular season, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com. James is aiming to be available for Wednesday's game against the Hornets, per Woike.

Good to go
James (ankle) will play in Wednesday's game against the Jazz.
Analysis
James was initially labeled probable, so it's not a surprise to see him in uniform Wednesday. He's averaging 31.3 points, 10.8 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game during February.

Expected to play against Utah
James is listed as probable for Wednesday's game versus the Jazz due to left ankle soreness, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
Analysis
James continues to deal with a nagging left ankle issue, but it is a good sign that his apparent abdominal injury from Monday's contest isn't expected to keep him out Wednesday. If James is ultimately upgraded to available, it is unlikely he will operate on a minutes restriction.

Spotted back on bench
James (abdomen) returned to the bench during the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Jazz, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Analysis
James made a quick trip to the locker room after taking a charge earlier in the quarter, though he was spotted sitting on the bench with a few minutes remaining in the game. It's unclear if he would have been cleared to return, as there was no need to force him back into action given LA's comfortable lead. The club should have additional information on the extent of James' injury shortly. He finished the contest with 24 points (10-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 29 minutes.

Leaves for locker room Monday
James exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent abdominal injury in the fourth quarter of Monday's game against the Jazz, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
James grabbed at his midsection after colliding with an opposing player. The superstar walked back to the locker room with the training staff, though he has since returned to the tunnel and is stretching the abdominal area, per Mark Medina of NBA.com.

Getting green light vs. Utah
James (ankle) has been cleared to play Monday against the Jazz, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis
James sat out of Saturday's matchup with the Pacers due to an ankle issue but won't miss Luka Doncic's Laker debut Monday evening. James continues to defy his age by averaging 31.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.0 steals over his last five appearances.

Expected to play
James (ankle) has been upgraded to probable for Monday's game against Utah, Mark Medina of NBA.com reports.
Analysis
James is expected to return from a one-game absence after missing Saturday's game versus the Pacers. With Luka Doncic (calf) expected to make his debut for the Lakers on Monday, it will be interesting to see how the offense operates with two high-usage playmakers.
