Doubtful for Wednesday
Poeltl (back) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports.
Analysis
After exiting Monday's game against the Spurs with lower-back tightness, Poeltl is likely to miss at least one game. Sandro Mamukelashvili could be in line for a spot start at center Wednesday, while Ochai Agbaji and Collin Murray-Boyles may have an expanded role in store.

Won't return vs. San Antonio
Poeltl won't return to Monday's game against the Spurs due to lower-back tightness, Esfandiar Baraheni of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Poeltl exited to the locker room with 9:04 remaining in the final quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly thereafter. The big man will finish with two points (1-6 FG), two rebounds, one assist and one block across 24 minutes. Sandro Mamukelashvili will likely see a bump in minutes the rest of the way with Poeltl sidelined. His next chance to play will come Wednesday against Houston.

Struggles with foul trouble in loss
Poeltl recorded four points (2-3 FG, 0-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal over 19 foul-plagued minutes in a 139-129 loss to the Mavericks.
Analysis
While foul trouble was an issue for Poeltl in this one, overall, he's gotten off to a slow start to the 2025-26 season. This was his second game without any blocks, and through the first three games of the season, he's missed all five of his free-throw attempts. He'll draw a tough matchup with Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs on Monday, so Poeltl could be headed for another rough afternoon.

Subpar performance in loss
Poeltl posted six points (3-5 FG, 0-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists over 27 minutes in Friday's 122-116 loss to the Bucks.
Analysis
Poeltl has kicked off the 2025-26 season with two rather unremarkable performances, which can partly be attributed to foul trouble. His role as the team's starting center is not in any imminent danger, however. Poeltl's next opportunity to bounce back is Sunday's matchup with Dallas.
