Clingan logged nine points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 24 minutes during Sunday's 114-107 loss to the Clippers.
Analysis
Clingan is not a big-time scorer, but he continues to impact all aspects of the stat sheet, and the playmaking (2.0 assists per game) and three-point shooting (1.3 triples per contest) have been a nice surprise for the second-year center. He's also yet to miss at the line, and he's rewarding those who drafted him late with top-40 production.

Analysis
Clingan has recorded a block, a three-pointer and at least six rebounds in all three games to start the season, but his offensive production leaves much to be desired, as he has not taken over six field goal attempts. The second-year Uconn product is averaging 58.8 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from three and 100 percent from the free-throw line, so look for him to get more involved as the season progresses.

Muted performance in loss
Clingan posted eight points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 118-114 loss to the Timberwolves.
Analysis
Clingan may have been efficient during the regular-season opener, but it wasn't the ideal performance, as he was the only starter who failed to crack double digits in the scoring column. The UConn product still has a lot of potential to make some noise from a fantasy perspective if he can bump up these numbers moving forward.

Team option exercised
The Trail Blazers picked up Clingan's team option for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports.
Analysis
This was Clingan's third-year team option. This transaction was never in any doubt for the franchise. Clingan is expected to be the starting center for the 2025-26 season, though he could be pushed by rookie Yang Hansen at some point soon.
