Pops for team-high 37 points
DeRozan finished Tuesday's 136-127 loss to the Pistons with 37 points (12-18 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 13-15 FT), three rebounds and eight assists across 42 minutes.
Analysis
DeRozan hit for his highest scoring total of the season in the loss. The veteran is doing all he can to make up for Zach LaVine's (ankle) missing production, but the team has gone 1-3 without their star swingman in the lineup. The 36-year-old guard is still incredibly effective at exploiting mismatches on the court, and his cuts to the basket are still as swift as ever.

Flirts with double-double in OT win
DeRozan accumulated 27 points (9-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals over 40 minutes during Sunday's 125-124 overtime victory over Houston.
Analysis
The Kings ended a five-game skid thanks to inspired performances throughout the first unit, with DeRozan finishing as the high scorer in the overtime victory. The veteran has had mixed success in an adjusted role due to Zach LaVine's (ankle) absence, spending more time in the backcourt as a complement to Russell Westbrook. Although he blew up for 33 points earlier in the week, DeRozan also experienced some of his lowest scoring totals of the season during the switch. While he can explode on any given night, his 18.4 point-per-game average this season is on pace to be his worst scoring average since 2012.

Ties season-high in scoring
DeRozan accumulated 33 points (10-16 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 10-10 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals over 35 minutes during Thursday's 134-133 overtime loss to Portland.
Analysis
It was a vintage DeRozan night, as the veteran finished with 33 points on only 16 shots. He also made all 10 of his free throws. His scoring total matched a season high from November, when he also scored 33 against Minnesota. Now in year 17, DeRozan's scoring average (18.2) is below 20 points per game for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Still, DeRozan is good for an occasional scoring burst and decent overall fantasy production.
