Not on injury report
Knecht (personal) is not listed on the Lakers' injury report for Wednesday's game against the Jazz, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.
Analysis
The Lakers' trade for Mark Williams was rescinded Saturday, which led to Knecht returning to Los Angeles. Knecht did not play in Monday's game against Utah, but it appears he will be part of the Lakers' rotation for Wednesday's rematch. The rookie first-round pick has averaged 8.3 points and 2.2 rebounds over 16.8 minutes per game since the beginning of January.

Officially out
Knecht (personal) won't play Monday against the Jazz, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Analysis
It was reported a few hours before tipoff that Knecht wasn't expected to play, and the team has since officially ruled him out after he rejoined the team one day ago. However, the Lakers do expect the rookie forward to be part of the rotation Wednesday in Utah.

Not expected to play Monday
Knecht (personal) is not expected to play Monday against the Jazz, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis
Knecht was temporarily traded to the Hornets in the deal that would have sent Mark Williams (not injury related) to Los Angeles, but the rookie is back in LA since the deal got rescinded. However, Knecht landed in LA on Sunday, so he's not expected to suit up Monday, although the plan is for him to play Wednesday, according to Woike.

Deemed probable for Monday
Knecht (personal) has been upgraded to probable for Monday's game against the Jazz, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis
After his trade to the Hornets was nixed over the weekend when Mark Williams failed a physical, Knecht has rejoined the Lakers and is expected to suit up Monday. In 48 appearances for the Lakers this season, Knecht has averaged 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.6 three-pointers and 0.9 assists in 20.7 minutes per game. With Luka Doncic (calf) listed as probable for Monday and on track to make his team debut, Knecht could see his playing time begin to trend down over the second half of his rookie season.

Questionable for Monday's game
Knecht (personal) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Jazz, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
Analysis
The rookie first-round pick remains with the Lakers after the team rescinded its trade-deadline deal with the Hornets that would have sent Knecht and Cam Reddish to Charlotte. Though Knecht isn't dealing with an injury, he hasn't played in nearly a week, so the team may be exercising some caution in listing him as questionable for Monday's contest. Knecht has averaged 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.6 three-pointers and 0.9 assists in 20.7 minutes per game over 48 appearances for the Lakers this season.

Returning to L.A.
The trade between the Lakers and Hornets involving Knecht, Mark Williams and Cam Reddish was rescinded Saturday, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis
According to McMenamin, the Lakers said the trade fell through because the Hornets failed to satisfy a condition of the deal. Bobby Marks of ESPN.com relays that because the deadline has passed, the trade was not allowed to be amended. Knecht was averaging 20.7 minutes per game ahead of the trade deadline, but his role may look different moving forward, as Luka Doncic's arrival will push Austin Reaves to shooting guard.

Questionable for Sunday
Knecht (recently traded) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Pistons.
Analysis
Knecht was traded by the Lakers to the Hornets on Thursday in exchange for Mark Williams. Knecht didn't take the court against the Spurs on Friday, and he won't be able to play Sunday until the trade is finalized. The rookie first-round pick averaged 9.3 points on 50.8 percent shooting (including 43.9 percent from three on 4.1 3PA/G) and 2.4 rebounds over 17.6 minutes per game across his last 10 outings with the Lakers prior to being traded.

Won't make Hornets debut Friday
Knecht (recently traded) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Spurs, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis
Knecht was traded by the Lakers to the Hornets along with Cam Reddish (personal), a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 pick-swap in exchange for center Mark Williams. Knecht won't debut for Charlotte on Friday, but he'll likely be available to play against Detroit on Sunday. Prior to the trade, Knecht had averaged 8.3 points and 2.2 rebounds over 16.8 minutes per game since the beginning of January.

Iffy to debut Friday
Knecht (recently traded) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Spurs.
Analysis
The rookie first-rounder was recently acquired by the Hornets in a trade that sent Mark Williams to the Lakers, and Knecht is questionable to make his debut with the club Friday. The 23-year-old appeared in 48 regular-season outings (12 starts) before the trade, averaging 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 three-pointers across 20.7 minutes per contest. Knecht will likely be able to step into a more sizable role with Charlotte, as the club is dealing with injuries to several key contributors.

Shipped to Charlotte
The Hornets acquired Knecht, forward Cam Reddish (personal), a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 first-round pick swap from the Lakers on Wednesday in exchange for center Mark Williams, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Analysis
Knecht, the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, averaged 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds across 20.7 points per game over his 48 appearances with the Lakers. In the aftermath of the Lakers' recent acquisition of Luka Doncic, the team had a need for interior defense and frontcourt help, leaving the rookie perimeter player expendable. With Charlotte depleted by injuries, expect Knecht to immediately step into a sizable role for a rebuilding club. Nick Smith and Josh Green would appear to represent Knecht's primary competition for playing time on the wing.
