Muted effort in Game 6 loss
McCollum closed with 11 points (4-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and three rebounds over 24 minutes during Thursday's 140-89 loss to New York in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Analysis
After a hot start to the series, McCollum wasn't able to find much success against the Knicks in Game 6 as Atlanta's season came to a disappointing end. Since joining the Hawks following a midseason trade with Washington, McCollum meshed well with his new team. He made 41 regular-season appearances (25 starts) and produced averages of 18.7 points, 4.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.3 three-pointers in 28.8 minutes per contest.

Goes missing in Game 5 loss
McCollum had six points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-3 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 126-97 loss to New York in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Analysis
McCollum simply couldn't get anything going Tuesday, delivering easily his worst game of the playoffs. After scoring at least 23 points in the opening three games, McCollum has scored a total of 23 points in his past two appearances, both of which have been losses. Now trailing 3-2, the Hawks will return to Atlanta for what is a must-win game. Look for McCollum to try to turn things around with a goal of forcing a Game 7.
