Cunningham recorded 23 points (8-24 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-10 FT), seven rebounds, 10 assists and one steal across 34 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 115-111 loss to the Bulls.
Analysis
Cunningham didn't have the most efficient night, but the usage was certainly encouraging. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said before the season that he had no interest in reducing Cunningham's sky-high usage rate, and there is even more on his plate offensively in the absence of Jaden Ivey (knee).

Registers preseason double-double
Cunningham totaled 16 points (6-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, 12 assists, two steals and one block in 24 minutes during Thursday's 119-98 preseason win over the Wizards.
Analysis
Cunningham had one final tune-up opportunity Thursday in Detroit's preseason finale, and he showed that he's eager for the regular season to begin. He posted an efficient shooting line and dominated as a distributor by dishing out a game-high 12 assists. Cunningham will have nearly one week off before opening the 2025-26 campaign in Chicago on Wednesday.

Analysis
Cunningham received a rest day Tuesday, but he'll be back to close out the preseason action Thursday evening. He could lead the league in assists this season, making him an enticing early-round target on draft day.
