Gets night off
Edwards is sitting out of Thursday's preseason game against Denver due to rest purposes.
Analysis
Edwards put up 16 points in 30 minutes during Wednesday's exhibition against the Bulls, and the team has evidently decided that he's seen enough preseason action. P.J. Dozer will get the start in Edwards' place Thursday night.

Struggles with shot in loss
Edwards totaled 16 points (6-23 FG, 3-16 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists and three steals across 30 minutes in Wednesday's 125-123 preseason loss to the Bulls.
Analysis
Edwards only sank 26.1 percent of his shots during the preseason loss, well below his 46.1 percent conversion rate from last season. Games like this should be an outlier for Edwards, who is Minnesota's primary scoring weapon and one of the most dynamic players in the league.

Drops 31 in loss
Edwards recorded 31 points (11-19 FG, 1-2 FT, 8-13 3Pt), three assists and two rebounds in 26 minutes during Sunday's 115-110 preseason loss to the Knicks.
Analysis
Edwards had a subpar game by his standards in his preseason debut, logging 16 points on 14 shots, but he returned to form Sunday, putting down eight three-pointers en route to a game-high 31 points. The 23-year-old pro is coming off a stellar season in which he averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 35.1 minutes per game across 79 contests and looks poised for another outstanding year in fantasy leagues and otherwise.
October 12, 2024
Goes for 16 points in win
Edwards delivered 16 points (7-14 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and a steal across 24 minutes in Friday's 121-111 preseason win over the 76ers.
Analysis
Edwards looked a bit rusty in the first quarter, but he got it going in the second quarter and made three buckets in a row at one point. The star guard, who will operate as the undisputed go-to player on offense for the Timberwolves following the trade that sent Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks, is ramping up with an eye toward being fully ready for the regular-season opener against the Lakers on Opening Night.
