Team option picked up
The Magic picked up Black's fourth-year team option Wednesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Analysis
This was a formality as far as Orlando is concerned. This move keeps Black under contract with the Magic through the 2026-27 campaign. Black is averaging 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists through four games to open the regular season.

Analysis
Despite Jalen Suggs (knee) returning from his one-game absence, Black still played 30 minutes and scored in double digits again, leading all bench players in scoring as well. Black has risen to be one of the main contributors among the second unit, and he will look to continue his momentum going Wednesday against Detroit.

Analysis
Black struggled to make an impact during Friday's matchup against the Hawks, finishing with eight points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes. However, he came through with a strong showing Saturday, leading the bench in scoring while also contributing defensively. Black experienced an uptick in minutes with Jalen Suggs (knee) ruled out, so expect his workload to take a hit once Suggs returns to health.

Analysis
Black didn't make much of an impact off the bench. He may struggle to find time on the floor unless Jalen Suggs (knee) isn't available, which could happen often early in the season with the team taking a cautious approach with the veteran guard.
