Playing time on upswing
O'Neill will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup Sunday against the Rangers.
Analysis
O'Neill will draw a third straight start after getting on base five times in the first two contests of the series. Since the All-Star break, O'Neill has posted a 1.026 OPS over 15 games, and his red-hot bat looks like it has earned him more opportunities against right-handed pitching.

Hits go-ahead home run
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Angels.
Analysis
O'Neill smashed a homer to left after Gunnar Henderson walked to make the lead 2-0 in the fourth. The Orioles traded away Taylor Ward and have Blaze Alexander on the 10-day IL (hand), which opened up more opportunities in the outfield for the scuffling O'Neill. But, things may be looking up for O'Neill after hitting homers in three of his last five games.

Smacks eighth homer off bench
O'Neill homered in his lone at-bat as a pinch hitter during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Angels.
Analysis
O'Neill gave the Orioles an insurance run in the eighth inning Tuesday. Baltimore traded away Taylor Ward on Monday, opening up plenty of reps in its outfield, and O'Neill is making a case in his part-time role for more playing time. He's batting .304 with six homers, two doubles and 10 RBI over his last 46 at-bats (19 games) since the start of July and is now slashing .213/.298/.388 with eight long balls, eight doubles and 18 RBI across 205 plate appearances for the season.
