Activated from 60-day IL
Edman (wrist) was activated from the 60-day injured list Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Analysis
Edman is now officially geared up for his season and team debut. The 29-year-old has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2024 campaign while working his way back from wrist surgery and an ankle sprain. Edman was traded to the Dodgers on July 29 and he has produced a .294 average with a home run, four RBI, five runs scored and a stolen base over 17 at-bats in six games with Triple-A Oklahoma while on a rehab assignment. Andy Pages was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move Monday, freeing up a spot for Edman in the outfield, where he's expected to see the majority of his playing time.

Analysis
Edman has been sidelined for the entire season while recovering from wrist surgery and an ankle sprain. He most recently began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Aug. 10 and has gone 5-for-17 with six walks and only two strikeouts. Edman looks likely to get the majority of his playing time in center field, though he is capable of playing a super-utility role.

Aiming for season debut Monday
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM Friday that the hope is Edman (wrist/ankle) will be ready for activation from the 60-day injured list Monday.
Analysis
Acquired from the Cardinals at the trade deadline, Edman has been out all season recovering from wrist surgery and more recently an ankle sprain, but his Dodgers and season debut is coming soon. Edman is 5-for-15 with one home run and a 1:3 K:BB in five rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City. He's expected to see the bulk of his action in center field for the Dodgers, but Edman also made a start at shortstop at OKC this week and offers the versatility to play multiple different spots, if needed.
