Set for rehab assignment
The Guardians assigned Cecconi (arm) to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.
Analysis
Cecconi progressed through a few bullpen sessions since Aug. 19 after landing on the injured list Aug. 7 due to arm fatigue. The right-hander will likely not need many appearances to get back into action for the Guardians, as he has not been out very long. The 27-year-old may be cleared to rejoin Cleveland when MLB rosters expand Sept. 1.

Returns to throwing
Cecconi (arm) recently threw a bullpen session and is scheduled for another bullpen this week before beginning a rehab assignment, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
The right-hander landed on the injured list Aug. 7 due to arm fatigue and was apparently cleared to resume throwing after an MRI came back clean over the weekend. Cecconi hasn't been on the shelf for long, so he may require only one or two appearances in the minor leagues before being cleared to rejoin the big-league roster.
