Yields three runs in start
Dubin did not factor into the decision in Friday's 13-12 win over Minnesota, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over 2.2 innings. He struck out two.
Analysis
Dubin made his second consecutive start and failed to escape the third inning as the Twins collected five hits -- including two for extra bases -- off the Houston right-hander. The 28-year-old now owns a 5.40 ERA and 29:15 K:BB across 28.1 total innings on the season. Jake Bloss (shoulder) is scheduled for a rehab appearance at Triple-A Sugar Land this weekend and would likely step into the rotation for Dubin next week.

Dubin will start Friday's game in Minnesota, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
It had been the expectation, but the Astros were holding off officially announcing it in case Dubin was needed in relief before then. The 28-year-old threw 55 pitches over 3.1 innings in a start against the Mets over the weekend, but that was his first start in either the majors or minors this season. It will be a bullpen game for Houston.

Analysis
Dubin started a bullpen game for the Astros and turned in his longest outing of the season. Though he didn't generate many strikeouts, he was able to keep the Mets off balance with 12 called strikes on only 55 total pitches. Dubin entered the appearance having given up four earned runs across his last 4.1 innings (three appearances), and he recorded his first scoreless effort since June 12.
