Swats another homer

Lowe went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a sacrifice fly during Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Dodgers.

Analysis

Lowe has been crushing the baseball lately, clubbing four homers in his last six games, including Sunday's three-run shot off Ben Casparius. The first baseman is 16-for-71 (.225) with 12 RBI and eight runs scored over 20 games in June. He's got a .699 OPS on the year.

Goes deep twice in victory

Lowe went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs Saturday in a 7-3 win over the Dodgers.

Analysis

Lowe homered to left field in the sixth inning and added a second shot to center field in the eighth. This was the first time on the campaign that the first baseman has gone deep multiple times, and Lowe recorded just his second multi-hit effort across his past 12 contests. He's up to 12 home runs and 47 RBI this season, though he's still slashing a modest .227/.295/.395 through 319 plate appearances.

Belts homer No. 10

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to the Rockies.

Analysis

The first baseman took Anthony Molina deep in the eighth inning as the Nationals tried to mount a late comeback from a 10-1 deficit. Lowe's up to 10 homers on the season, but Tuesday's effort was only his second multi-hit performance in June, a month in which he's slashing .231/.286/.385 in 15 games.

Idle against southpaw

Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

Analysis

Even though he owns a lowly .209/.250/.302 slash line against left-handed pitching this season, the lefty-hitting Lowe typically starts in those matchups, but he'll get Monday off while southpaw Carson Palmquist toes the rubber for Colorado. Andres Chaparro will step in for Lowe at first base and will bat cleanup.
