Stays hot with three hits

Olson went 3-for-5 in Tuesday's loss to the Giants.

Analysis

Atlanta managed only eight hits in total, so Olson's consistent presence on the basepaths didn't produce any offense in a shutout loss. The first baseman has hit safely in six straight games, and through 17 contests in July he's slashing .290/.372/.478 with four doubles, three homers, 10 runs and 12 RBI.

Socks 18th homer

Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.

Analysis

The first baseman took Marcus Stroman deep in the sixth inning to get Atlanta on the board. It was Olson's first long ball since July 5 and his 18th of the season, but he's had a productive month overall, slashing .267/.353/.467 in 15 July games with three homers, eight runs and 12 RBI.
