Won't play Sunday due to injury
Vientos (groin) told reporters after Saturday's 3-0 win over the Cardinals that he will be out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis
Vientos was replaced by Brett Baty in the fifth inning with groin discomfort, and the former believed that was due to cramping from dehydration. Vientos didn't seem too concerned about the injury, but he would be sent for imaging if he's still sore in the morning. Baty figures to draw the start at third base in Vientos' absence.

Exits game with groin injury
Vientos was removed in the fifth inning of Saturday's game against the Cardinals due to groin discomfort, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Vientos went 0-for-2 before being replaced by Brett Baty in the fifth frame. The severity of Vientos' injury isn't clear, but he'll undergo more testing and an update should be made by the team during or shortly after the conclusion of Saturday's contest.

Homers again Friday
Vientos went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's win over the Cardinals.
Analysis
The 25-year-old appears to be shaking off his early-season slump. Vientos has hit safely in six straight games, batting .292 (7-for-24) over that stretch with two doubles, two homers, five runs and five RBI.

Goes yard for first time in 2025
Vientos went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Cardinals.
Analysis
It was a much-needed first homer of the year for Vientos, who took Cardinals right-hander Andre Pallante yard to open the scoring Thursday in the second inning. Vientos is slashing a dismal .152/.253/.258 with four doubles, five RBI and six runs scored through 66 at-bats (18 games), but fantasy managers should try to stay patient with the slugging corner infielder. As long as Vientos is hitting in the heart of New York's star-studded lineup, he should see plenty of RBI opportunities going forward.

Taking seat amid struggles
Vientos is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
Analysis
Vientos will get his first day off of the season after struggling to a .145/.254/.210 batting line while failing to hit a home run through 71 plate appearances. Brett Baty will get the nod at third base Wednesday, but he's mustered a lowly .361 OPS so far this season and likely doesn't present a major threat to Vientos' standing atop the depth chart.
