Second homer of June

Robert went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run Friday against the Blue Jays.

Analysis

Robert cracked a 441-foot home run against Mason Fluharty in the third inning, his seventh long ball of the season. He continues to strike out an alarming clip -- he has a 35.2 percent strikeout rate in June -- but Robert has managed 10 RBI, two homers and one stolen base across his last 15 games.

Back in action Tuesday

Robert (thumb) will start in center field and bat fifth in Tuesday's game versus the Cardinals.

Analysis

Robert had to be scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Rangers due to right thumb soreness. However, he had an extra day off with the White Sox being idle Monday and is ready to roll for Tuesday's series opener.

Downplays injury

Robert (thumb) expects to play Tuesday versus the Cardinals, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Analysis

Robert said following Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers that his thumb "feels good" and that he "should be good to go" for Tuesday's series opener against St. Louis. The outfielder has secured at least one hit in each of his last five games, batting .368 with a solo home run and four RBI over that stretch.

Scratched with thumb issue

Robert was scratched from the lineup Sunday against the Rangers due to right thumb soreness and is considered day-to-day, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Analysis

Robert was initially slated to start in center field Sunday but will instead head to the bench due to the thumb issue. The 27-year-old will now have two straight days to rest up since the White Sox have a scheduled day off Monday. Michael Taylor will replace Robert in center field for the series finale in Texas.
