Lands on IL with wrist bone bruise
The Guardians placed Thomas on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right wrist bone bruise.
Analysis
Thomas first suffered the injury two weeks ago when he was hit on the wrist by a pitch. He's been in and out of the lineup since then and evidently still isn't 100 percent, so the Guardians elected to make a roster move. Thomas will be eligible to return April 30, but it's not clear whether he'll be ready to go on that date. Angel Martinez has been receiving the lion's share of playing time in center field lately and should continue to do so.

Falling into reserve role
Thomas is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Yankees.
Analysis
Thomas made three straight starts last week after returning from a wrist injury, but he'll be on the bench Monday for the third game in a row. Angel Martinez is again in center field for the Guardians on Monday and appears to have emerged as manager Stephen Vogt's top option at the position, at least against right-handed pitching.

Not starting Saturday
Thomas is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against Pittsburgh, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Thomas went 2-for-5 and scored two runs Friday, snapping what had been an 0-for-11 drought at the plate. He'll now grab a seat on the bench against Paul Skenes and the Pirates, giving Angel Martinez an opportunity to start in center field.

Snaps hitless stretch
Thomas batted second in the order and went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in Friday's 10-7 win over Pittsburgh.
Analysis
Thomas was moved up from his normal spot in the order (fifth) and ended an 0-for-11 run with a single in the third inning. Moving Thomas to second set off a domino effect of Jose Ramirez dropping from second to third and Carlos Santana from third to fifth. It's unclear if the new arrangement was a one-game thing or if it has more permanency, but given the team scored a season-high 10 runs, manager Stephen Vogt may continue to use Thomas as the No. 2 hitter.

Hitless in return
Thomas returned to the starting lineup and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 9-1 loss to Baltimore.
Analysis
Thomas, who had been dealing with a wrist injury, made his first start in over a week. The 0-fer dropped Thomas' season line to .147/.189/.176 through 10 games.

Making first start since April 8
Thomas (wrist) will start in center field and bat fifth in Wednesday's game in Baltimore.
Analysis
Thomas will re-enter the starting nine for the first time since April 8, after a bruised right wrist kept him on the bench for six straight games. He went unused in the first five contests but struck out as a pinch hitter and played the final three innings in center field of Tuesday's 6-3 win. Injury aside, Thomas has gotten off to a tough start to the season, as he'll take a .161/.206/.194 batting line into Wednesday's contest.

Enters as pinch hitter
Thomas (wrist) entered as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-1 in Tuesday's 6-3 win over Baltimore.
Analysis
Thomas was held out of the previous five games before his pinch-hitting appearance Tuesday. He stayed in the game and finished the final three innings in center field.
