Dealing with forearm contusion

Mitchell suffered a right forearm contusion Sunday against Atlanta, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Analysis

Mitchell was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the fourth inning, and he was unable to take the field in the top of the fifth. After undergoing additional imaging, the result was determined to be a contusion, and he can be considered day-to-day ahead of Monday's day off for Milwaukee.

Exits early after HBP

Mitchell (arm) exited Sunday's contest against Atlanta in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Analysis

Mitchell took a 94.4 mph fastball from Tyler Mahle off his right hand/wrist with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and although he was able to finish the frame, Luis Lara replaced him in the outfield to open the top of the fifth. Mitchell developed quite the welt on his arm, and the team decided to pull him from the contest. The 27-year-old will likely undergo further evaluation, and he can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Huge performance in return

Mitchell went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 7-4 win over the Mariners.

Analysis

Mitchell tallied three extra-base hits after missing one game with a sore foot, highlighted by a solo shot in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old has now gone 7-for-10 over his past two games, though he's still sporting a lowly .654 OPS through 17 August contests. On the year, he's slashing .261/.356/.421 with nine homers, 54 RBI, 54 runs scored and 12 steals across 425 plate appearances.

Returning to lineup Thursday

Mitchell (foot) will start in center field and bat seventh in Thursday's game against the Mariners.

Analysis

Mitchell was held out of action Wednesday due to a sore foot, but he is feeling well enough to return to action for Thursday's series finale. The outfielder has been scuffling so far in August with a .173/.307/.192 batting line.

Managing sore foot

Mitchell isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Seattle due to foot soreness, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Analysis

Mitchell went 4-for-6 and scored two runs during Milwaukee's 22-0 rout of the Mariners on Tuesday but evidently picked up a foot injury in the process, so the Brewers will give him a day off as a precaution. Luis Lara will patrol center field as a result, moving Jake Bauers into right field and opening first base for Andrew Vaughn.

Out of lineup against righty

Mitchell is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Mariners.

Analysis

Logan Gilbert is on the bump for the Mariners, marking the first time since July 7 that the left-handed-hitting Mitchell isn't starting versus a righty hurler. Luis Lara will handle center field and Jake Bauers will be in right field for Milwaukee.
