Hitting off tee

Wong (finger) has progressed to hitting off a tee, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Analysis

Recovering from a fractured left pinky finger, Wong hasn't done much catching yet but is expected to be cleared for that soon. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Friday that Wong could return in around two-and-a-half weeks, while the catcher believes it'll be sooner than that.

Wong (finger) has begun baseball activities including some catching drills, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Analysis

Wong is out indefinitely with a fracture of his left pinky finger. Boston manager Alex Cora was optimistic about Wong doing the catching drills and noted that Wong is progressing.
