Reaches thrice in win

Cowser went 1-for-3 with an RBI double and a stolen base during Tuesday's 4-3 extra-innings win over the Red Sox.

Analysis

Cowser had to shake off a bit of rust after returning from the 7-day concussion IL on Sunday, going 1-for-10 with four strikeouts in his first two games back. He reached safely three times Tuesday, notching a double and a pair of walks with no strikeouts. The outfielder is striking out at a career-worst 31.7 percent clip in 2025, and he's slashing .210/.278/.390 with nine homers and seven stolen bases across 230 plate appearances.

Making return from concussion

The Orioles reinstated Cowser (concussion) from the 7-day injured list Sunday.

Analysis

Baltimore optioned Daniel Johnson to Triple-A Norfolk to clear room for Cowser, who missed about a week and a half while recovering from a concussion. Prior to being shelved, the 25-year-old slashed .213/.279/.401 with nine home runs and six stolen bases over 215 plate appearances on the season. Cowser should immediately settle back into an everyday role in the Baltimore outfield.

Hopeful for Sunday return

Interim manager Tony Mansolino said Friday that the Orioles are hoping Cowser (concussion) will be activated from the injured list for Sunday's game against Houston, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Analysis

Cowser became eligible for reinstatement Thursday, and he's slated to be activated for the final game of a three-game set against the Astros on Sunday. Dylan Carlson and Greg Allen have been holding down left field while Cowser is sidelined.
