Snaps skid
Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a walk Sunday against the Rangers.
Analysis
Reynolds made his return from paternity leave Saturday and was just 1-for-27 across his last eight games entering Sunday's contest. While it was a relatively unremarkable performance, Reynolds did manage his first three-hit game since May 31. Across 59 at-bats in June, Reynolds has only 11 hits with three runs scored, five RBI and one home run.

The Pirates placed Reynolds (personal) on the paternity list Wednesday.
Analysis
Reynolds left the team to observe the birth of his child and must miss at least one game and no more than three while he's on the paternity list. The Pirates recalled Billy Cook from Triple-A Indianapolis to serve as a short-term replacement for Reynolds on the 26-man active roster.

Headed to paternity list
The Pirates are expected to place Reynolds on the paternity list Wednesday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Reynolds was pulled from Tuesday's contest in the second inning to be with his wife, who had gone into labor during the game. The 30-year-old outfielder will be allowed to miss up to three games while he welcomes a new addition to his family; meanwhile, Alexander Canario figures to benefit from a few additional starts in the outfield.
