Not starting Tuesday

Vaughn is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Analysis

Vaughn has gone 3-for-13 with three walks, a double and a homer in five games since coming off the injured list last week, though he finds himself on the bench Tuesday for the second time in Milwaukee's past three contests. Jake Bauers, who has an .850 OPS across 20 at-bats in May, will instead start at first base in the series opener versus San Diego.

Beginning on bench Saturday

Vaughn isn't in Milwaukee's starting lineup versus the Yankees on Saturday.

Analysis

Vaughn returned Monday from a lengthy stint on the injured list due to a hand injury. He started each of the Brewers' subsequent three games (once at first base and twice at DH) and went 3-for-11 with a homer, three runs and three RBI. Vaughn will get a breather for at least a portion of Saturday while Jake Bauers starts at first base and Tyler Black slots in at DH.

Doubles, scores twice in win

Vaughn went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Friday's 6-0 win over the Yankees.

Analysis

Vaughn walked and scored in a four-run second inning against Yankees ace Max Fried and then doubled and scored in the third. Vaughn returned from the injured list earlier in the week and is now 3-for-11 with a double, a home run, three RBI and three runs scored in three games since suffering the broken hamate bone in his left hand on Opening Day.

Clubs first homer of season

Vaughn went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Cardinals.

Analysis

In just his second game back from a hamate bone injury he suffered Opening Day, Vaughn launched an Andre Pallante fastball over the left-field wall for his first long ball of the season. The first baseman had an outstanding finish to the 2025 campaign after being acquired from the White Sox, slashing .308/.375/.493 with nine homers over 64 regular-season games for the Brewers, but he hasn't yet gotten a chance to show he can repeat that level of performance in 2026.
