Lands on injured list

The Phillies placed Bohm (hand) on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Sept. 3, due to a left hand strain.

Analysis

The 28-year-old hasn't seen the field since Aug. 29 due to the injury, and the Phillies finally opted to move him to the injured list after six straight absences. Bohm will be eligible to be reinstated Sept. 13, though it's unclear if he's expected to be healthy by that point. Buddy Kennedy was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move, but it'll likely be a combination of Edmundo Sosa and Kody Clemens that fill in at third base for Philadelphia.

Still out Thursday

Bohm (hand) isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Thursday's game against Miami.

Analysis

Bohm will be missing his sixth consecutive game as a result of inflammation in his left hand. The team still doesn't believe he'll need to spend time on the injured list, though that may change if the 28-year-old doesn't return before the end of the series. Kody Clemens will start at the hot corner Thursday and bat eighth.

Remains on bench

Bohm (hand) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Analysis

While the Phillies are still expecting Bohm to avoid a stint on the injured list, he'll end up missing out on a fifth straight start while he continues to deal with swelling on his left hand. Kody Clemens will fill in at third base for Bohm, who can be considered day-to-day heading into Thursday's series opener in Miami.

Not expected to face Toronto

Manager Rob Thomson said Tuesday that Bohm (hand) likely won't play during the Phillies' current series against the Blue Jays, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Analysis

The Phillies skipper added that he doesn't expect Bohm to require a trip to the injured list, and he should be able to return to the lineup sometime during the team's upcoming series in Miami. The 28-year-old hasn't played since leaving Thursday's game against Atlanta due to inflammation in his left hand.

Held out again Tuesday

Bohm (hand) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Toronto, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Analysis

Bohm missed the final three games of the weekend series versus Atlanta and still isn't ready to play in the series opener in Toronto even after a team off day Monday. Edmundo Sosa will receive another start at third base for the Phillies.

Missing third straight start

Bohm (hand) remains out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Analysis

Though Bohm is on the bench for the third day in a row, he seems to be progressing in his recovery from left hand discomfort. According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, Bohm was spotted on the field doing some work prior to Sunday's game, and the Phillies have suggested that he could be ready to return to the lineup following Monday's off day. He'll give way to Edmundo Sosa at third base for at least one more game, however.

Out again Saturday

Bohm (hand) isn't in the Phillies' lineup Saturday versus Atlanta.

Analysis

Bohm was cleared of any structural damage after he left Thursday's game with a left hand injury, but he'll now miss his second consecutive start as he continues to deal with some soreness. While he recovers, Weston Wilson will get the nod to start at the hot corner and bat seventh.
