While the game was out of reach, the homer was Alonso's 13th of the year and resulted in his third multi-hit effort in his past nine games. Held out of lineup Thursday
Alonso (hand) is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Diamondbacks.
Analisi
Alonso managed to avoid any fractures after exiting Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers following a hit by pitch on the right hand. However, he is dealing with a painful bone bruise that will cause him to miss at least one start. Mark Vientos will handle first base Thursday, with Brett Baty covering third base.

CT scan confirms no fracture
Alonso is day-to-day after a CT scan confirmed he did not suffer a fracture when he was hit by a pitch in the right hand during Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers, Andy Martino of SNY.tv reports.
Analisi
X-rays and now a CT scan both came back negative, as Alonso has managed to avoid a serious injury. It's possible he could still miss a game or two if he remains sore, but it does not appear a stint on the injured list will be required.

X-rays negative
X-rays on Alonso's right hand came back negative Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Analisi
The Mets won't be able to confirm whether or not Alonso avoided a fracture until the results of his CT scan come back Thursday, but a clean X-ray is certainly an encouraging sign. The 29-year-old remains day-to-day after getting hit in the hand by a 93-mph fastball during Wednesday's contest.

Undergoing imaging
Alonso will undergo imaging on his right hand after being hit by a pitch Wednesday against the Dodgers, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports.
Analisi
The 29-year-old was struck by a 93-mph fastball in the first inning, and it's no surprise he's being sent for testing. Alonso should be considered day-to-day until more information is available

Exits after HBP on hand
Alonso was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers after being hit on the right hand by a pitch in the first inning, David Lennon of Newsday reports.
Analisi
A 93 mile-per-hour four-seamer struck Alonso, and he was lifted for a pinch runner after taking his base. The big first baseman is surely headed for X-rays, with an update on his condition from the Mets likely to come later Wednesday.
