Plays back-to-back games in left field
Gurriel (adductor) started in left field and went 0-for-3 with an RBI for Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Analisi
This was the fourth rehab game for Gurriel and second of a back-to-back sequence playing left field. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports that there have been convesations about Gurriel's lower-body strength and making sure he's ready to return. The back-to-back games in the field indicate he's on the verge of returning; however, a surplus of outfielders on the 26-man roster means Gurriel may not have an everyday spot in the starting lineup when he returns.

Gurriel (adductor) started in left field and went 0-for-4 with a walk and three strikeouts for Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
Analisi
Gurriel began a rehab assignment with the Aces and played eight innings in the field. The outfielder is in the midst of his third IL stint this season. He missed the start of the year while rehabbing from a torn ACL and then suffered a left hamstring injury in May before the adductor hit him in July. The Diamondbacks have a crowded outfield, and there is a question of how exactly Gurriel will fit in once he's ready.

Gurriel (adductor) has been sent to Triple-A Reno to begin a rehab assignment.
Analisi
Gurriel landed on the 10-day injured list shortly after the All-Star break, but he's ready to test things out in games after going through workouts at the Diamondbacks' spring training facility in Arizona. He should be ready to rejoin the active roster later this month. What's unclear is what Gurriel's role will be upon return, as the Diamondbacks traded for Lars Nootbaar and got Jordan Lawlar back from injury after Gurriel was hurt.
