Fans eight in tough loss
Crawford (8-13) took the loss Tuesday, giving up two runs on one hit and two walks over six innings as the Red Sox were downed 7-2 by the Mets. He struck out eight.
Analisi
The right-hander made only one real mistake, but Francisco Lindor drove it deep to right field for a two-run homer in the third inning, and Boston never recovered. Crawford has lost four straight trips to the mound, but the fault lies mainly with the Red Sox offense -- he's posted a 3.52 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB in 23 innings over that stretch. Tuesday's quality start was his second straight and 13th of the year. Crawford will try to get back in the win column in his next outing, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Orioles.

Takes third straight loss
Crawford (8-12) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Thursday, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks over 6.2 innings while striking out three.
Analisi
Crawford got knocked around a bit in the third inning when he allowed a leadoff double to Brian Serven to open the frame, followed by an RBI double off the bat of Vladimir Guerrero three batters later. The right-hander would allow just one more run on the night, which came on a two-bagger from Ernie Clement in the sixth, while inducing 12 whiffs overall in the contest. Crawford has now been tagged with the loss in each of his last three starts and he's given up multiple runs in eight straight. He'll wrap up the month of August with a 6.32 ERA to go along with a 22:11 K:BB.
