Belts grand slam off Alcantara
Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a double and a grand slam during the Blue Jays' 8-1 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Sanchez smacked his 10th double of the season in the third inning, but he made his biggest play of the night in the sixth, when he smacked a grand slam off Sandy Alcantara to cap off the Blue Jays' six-run frame. Sanchez was moved up to the third spot in the lineup Tuesday, and his recent play at the plate could have him stay there, even when Vladimir Guerrero (elbow) returns to action. Over his last 16 games, Sanchez has a 1.131 OPS with eight extra-base hits (including two homers) and 12 RBI in 49 plate appearances.

Sanchez will play right field and bat seventh against right-hander Bubba Chandler. Sanchez was removed from Wednesday's contest against the Yankees and didn't start Thursday's series finale with left-hander Carlos Rodon on the mound. Sanchez was lifted from Wednesday's contest after getting the wind knocked out of him. The left-handed hitter likely wasn't going to start Thursday, anyway, with the Yankees sending southpaw Carlos Rodon to the bump, but it's unclear whether he'll be available off the bench. Myles Straw will cover right field for Toronto in Sanchez's stead.

Analisi
Sanchez landed hard on his chest when attempting a diving catch on a flyball in the seventh inning and was replaced in right field immediately afterward as a precaution. The Jays will evaluate him ahead of Thursday's series finale, though the team doesn't seem to be very worried about him missing an extended period of time. If the 28-year-old sits down Thursday, Myles Straw would likely draw the start against southpaw Carlos Rodon.
