Might start Thursday
DeGrom (triceps) threw a bullpen Tuesday and felt good following the session, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analisi
Given deGrom's apparent progression in his recovery from right triceps fatigue, the right-hander is a candidate to start for the Rangers on Thursday. He was initially slated to start Wednesday based on his next turn in the rotation, but it seems the 38-year-old will just be bumped a day. The team has yet to confirm its starters for Wednesday and Thursday.

Plays catch without issue Sunday
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said that deGrom (triceps) responded "really well" to playing catch Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analisi
DeGrom is working through right triceps fatigue, which forced him out of his most recent start in Thursday's 7-0 loss to the Angels after just two innings. With an MRI earlier in the week revealing no major red flags, deGrom looks like he could avoid a stint on the injured list, but the Rangers have yet to lock him in for his next start. The fact that he played catch without issue is a promising sign, but deGrom may need to make it through a bullpen session Monday before the Rangers confirm him for his next turn through the rotation, which comes up Wednesday against the Nationals.

Imaging yields positive news
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said that imaging on deGrom's injured right triceps Saturday revealed encouraging news, but the right-hander may not make his next scheduled start, Theo DeRosa of MLB.com reports.
Analisi
The imaging revealed nothing concerning, validating deGrom's original diagnosis of right triceps fatigue, which forced him out early in his most recent start Thursday against the Angels. While deGrom appears to have avoided any sort of major setback, the Rangers aren't yet ready to commit to him being ready to go for his next turn through the rotation, which is expected to come up Wednesday against the Nationals in Arlington. Options to replace deGrom next Wednesday would include Jack Leiter (ankle), Jordan Montgomery and Cal Quantrill.

Expected to undergo imaging on triceps
DeGrom is expected to undergo imaging on his right triceps Friday after departing Thursday's start against the Angels after just two innings, Jacob Gurvis of MLB.com reports.
Analisi
Following the game Thursday, deGrom downplayed his right triceps fatigue. "I'm not too concerned," he said. "Hopefully I'll make my next [start], we'll see. Tonight, it just -- there in the second it was tight and just didn't want to loosen up. I haven't really had that before." DeGrom felt he could have kept pitching, but after needing 53 pitches to get through his two frames, manager Skip Schumaker pulled the plug on the right-hander. If deGrom needs to miss time, Jordan Montgomery would be a logical choice to fill his spot in the rotation.

Departs start with triceps fatigue
DeGrom was removed from Thursday's game against the Angels after just two innings due to right triceps fatigue, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analisi
DeGrom needed 32 pitches to make it through the second inning, a frame in which he allowed two runs on five hits. In total, deGrom tossed 53 pitches across his two innings, surrendering the two runs on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts prior to his departure. It doesn't sound like a serious issue for the right-hander, but he'll likely undergo further testing ahead of next week's scheduled start against the Nationals.
