The 25-year-old reached 30 homers on the season for the first time in his career with his fourth-inning shot off Justin Wrobleski. Abrams was scratched from Monday's lineup against Miami due to back tightness, but he was cleared to return to action for Tuesday's series opener. He got the Nationals on the board early in the second inning with a two-run single before being brought home later in the frame on a Brady House double. Abrams has an .852 OPS with 27 steals, 29 home runs and 94 RBI over 570 plate appearances this season.

Abrams was scratched from the lineup for Monday's series opener due to back tightness, but it was apparently a minor concern since he's back in the starting nine a day later. The 25-year-old was struggling at the plate to finish August, batting .106 (5-for-47) with a 32.1 percent strikeout rate in his last 12 games.
