Analyse
Rozier led the second unit in scoring once again, reaching double figures for the fourth consecutive contest. The 30-year-old has seen a decline in his scoring numbers this season, though he has still provided a valuable spark for the Heat off the bench of late. Over his last five outings, Rozier has averaged 14.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists across 28.8 minutes per game.

Despite Rozier being under federal investigation for potentially cooperating in an illegal sports betting scheme in 2023 while with the Hornets, the 30-year-old guard should be available to play against San Antonio on Saturday. Rozier should continue to come off the bench, where he has averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 28.4 minutes across his last five appearances.

Under federal investigation
Rozier is under federal investigation for potentially cooperating in an illegal sports betting scheme in 2023 while with the Hornets, ESPN reports. A statement by NBA spokesman Mike Bass noted "The league conducted an investigation and did not find a violation of NBA rules. We are now aware of an investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York related to this matter and have been cooperating with that investigation."
Analyse
While it's encouraging the NBA conducted its own investigation and found no wrongdoing, this is a situation that needs to be monitored after Jontay Porter received a lifetime ban in April 2024 for violating the league's gaming rules. Miami's next game is Saturday in San Antonio. At the time of Haynes' report, there's no information regarding whether or not Rozier will be available for the weekend's matchup.

The veteran guard led the bench in scoring while tying Tyler Herro with a team-high 22 points. Moreover, Rozier was efficient while securing his fourth 20-plus-point outing of the 2024-25 campaign. The 30-year-old has run with the second unit in each of the Heat's last four outings, during which he has averaged 13.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 27.8 minutes per contest.
