Gafford was upgraded to available shortly before tipoff Thursday and didn't show any signs of his ankle injury hampering his play. The big man has started five consecutive matchups for the Mavs and is averaging 12.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.4 blocks in 26.4 minutes over this strong stretch.

Gafford has dealt with a right ankle sprain for most of the year, but he's suiting up for the sixth consecutive time Thursday. With Anthony Davis (finger) now totally out of the picture in the Dallas frontcourt, Gafford is looking to find a rhythm as the established top center from here on out. The 27-year-old big man is averaging 9.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 23.1 minutes per tilt in his last five games, shooting 64.3 percent from the field.

At this point, it appears as though fantasy managers are simply going to have to accept that Gafford's ankles could be an ongoing issue. With that said, he has now played at least 25 minutes in three straight games, including both games of a back-to-back.

Gafford recorded his first double-double in his past seven appearances while also logging at least 25 minutes for the second straight game. While it has been a season full of disappointment, Gafford is beginning to show signs of life. With very little in terms of viable competition for minutes, Gafford is trending toward being a must-roster player, especially if he can remain healthy for the foreseeable future.
