Winn went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Padres.

Analyse

Winn tormented the Padres' pitching staff during this week's four-game series, going 9-for-17 (.529) with three walks. His homer Thursday was his first since Aug. 17, giving him five long balls this month and 12 on the year. The shortstop is now slashing .287/.335/.430 with 47 RBI, 66 runs scored, 24 doubles, four triples and 10 stolen bases over 125 games this season.

Winn was an effective table-setter Monday, scoring twice on hits by Alec Burleson as the Cardinals got three-hit efforts from the first two batters in the lineup.
