Beginning rehab assignment
Jung (calf) was sent to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.
Analyse
Jung hasn't seen the field since July 21 due to a strained left calf, but he's now ready for game action after recently progressing to facing live pitching. It's not clear how many rehab games the 28-year-old will require before being reinstated, but it's possible he's back with the Rangers this weekend in Arizona.

Analyse
If all goes well, Jung is expected to embark on a rehab assignment at some point this week. A mid-September return is a possibility.

Keeps making progress
Jung (calf) ran the bases Saturday, Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analyse
This was another step in the right direction for Jung, who had previously run in straight or curved lines but never on the basepaths. If he responds well Sunday, the next steps are a live batting practice session and then a rehab assignment.

Runs again Thursday
Jung (calf) ran for the third consecutive day Thursday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analyse
Jung is eyeing a return to live games over the weekend with a rehab assignment. The third baseman is trying to return from a left calf strain that landed him on the 10-day injured list in late July. He was not at 100% running Monday but has seemingly made progress the past couple days.
