Lands on injured list
The Diamondbacks placed Lawlar on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right hamstring strain.
Analyse
Lawlar had to come out of Friday's game after legging out an infield single, and he was later diagnosed with a hamstring strain. He'll now spend at least the next 10 days on the shelf, leaving Jorge Barrosa as the favorite to take over as Arizona's primary center fielder. Tim Tawa was recalled from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

Slated for MRI on hamstring
Lawlar will undergo an MRI on Saturday after suffering a right hamstring strain in Friday's win over the Twins, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Analyse
Lawlar just returned from a wrist injury last week and is now facing the possibility of another IL stint depending on the severity of the strain. When asked whether he's optimistic about what the MRI will show, Lawlar said, "I'll wait for the imaging and then let you know." Jorge Barrosa has struggled at the plate with a .549 OPS this season, but he has been a plus player defensively for Arizona and would likely step in as the top center fielder should Lawlar have to miss more than a few days.

Removed with injury
Lawlar was removed from Friday's game against the Twins with an apparent injury, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Analyse
Lawlar legged out an infield single on a bunt in the eighth inning, but he tweaked something while doing so and was immediately lifted for a pinch runner. It's not immediately clear what the 23-year-old is dealing with, but the team may have an update on his status after the game. If he ends up needing to miss time, Jorge Barrosa would be the next man up to start in center field.

Drawing fourth straight start
Lawlar will start in center field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Analyse
Lawlar has cracked the starting nine for a fourth game in a row, with the Diamondbacks having faced three lefties and one righty during that stretch. Since coming off the 60-day injured list Friday, Lawlar has gone just 2-for-12 at the plate, but he's reached base on four other occasions (two walks, two hit-by-pitches) and has gone 3-for-3 on steal attempts. With the Diamondbacks demoting Ryan Waldschmidt to Triple-A Reno earlier this week, Lawlar could have a clear path to playing regularly in center field.

Logs steal in win
Lawlar went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Reds.
Analyse
This was Lawlar's second appearance since coming off the injured list, and he's swiped bags in both contests (three overall), upping his total to four over eight games this season. Other than 2024, when injuries limited him to 23 games, Lawlar's posted double-digit stolen bases every year since becoming a full-time professional.
