Back from injured list
The Reds reinstated Pagan (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.
Analyse
The right-hander is fully recovered from the left hamstring strain that sent him to the injured list in early May, and he's now back on the active roster after making two rehab appearances with Triple-A Louisville. Pagan had a slow start to the campaign with a 6.43 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB across 14 innings while going 6-for-9 in save chances prior to the injury, but he should still reclaim the closer role now that he's healthy.

Set to regain closer role
Reds manager Terry Francona said Monday that Pagan (hamstring) will be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday and is set to regain his role as the team's closer, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
Analyse
Pagan likely would have been reinserted into the ninth inning even before Tony Santillan (oblique) landed on the shelf last week, but the Santillan injury seemingly cinched things. Out since early May with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, Pagan logged two scoreless rehab appearances with Triple-A Louisville. He'll get a day of rest Monday before being activated Tuesday, Francona said in an interview with MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.

On track to return this week
Pagan (hamstring) is likely to return from the 15-day injured list this week after tossing scoreless innings in a pair of rehab appearances with Triple-A Louisville over the weekend, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Analyse
Pagan needed just six pitches to retire the side in his first outing with Louisville on Friday. He then faced the minimum in his second appearance Sunday erasing a leadoff single with a double-play groundout before inducing a lineout to end the frame. Since he threw just nine pitches Sunday, the Reds could be comfortable activating him from the IL ahead of Monday's series opener in Milwaukee, though it wouldn't be surprising if he was given a day to rest before being reinstated Tuesday. Whenever he's added back to the active roster, Pagan should reclaim closing duties for the Reds after converting six of nine save chances before hitting the IL on May 6 due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.
