Exits early after HBP
Turner exited Thursday's contest against the Mets in the third inning after suffering a right calf contusion, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.

Turner took a 79.2-mph sweeper from Sean Manaea off his right calf in the bottom of the first inning, and as a result, he was removed from the contest a couple frames later. The shortstop has now been forced out of two of the team's last four games due to hit-by-pitches. In his absence Thursday, Edmundo Sosa has shifted to shortstop while Justin Crawford has entered the lineup in the outfield. Though X-rays on Turner's right wrist returned negative after he was hit by a pitch in Monday's 7-0 win in the series opener, the Phillies elected to hold the 32-year-old out of the lineup Tuesday while he dealt with some painful bruising. The day off apparently provided sufficient time for Turner to recover, as he'll slot back into his usual spot in the field for the series finale. Even before hurting his wrist, Turner had been enduring a rough start to the season; he'll take a career-low .594 OPS -- down 218 points from 2025 -- into Wednesday's contest.

Over his last 61 plate appearances (14 games), the speedy shortstop is slashing a woeful .207/.246/.241 with no home runs, two RBI, three stolen bases and seven runs scored. Turner's numbers on the year aren't much better, as he is slashing just .222/.272/.335 with seven homers, 21 RBI, 14 steals and 41 runs scored across 305 plate appearances.
