Reaches three times Saturday
Torkelson went 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Marlins.
Análisis
Torkelson is still searching for his first home run of 2026, but he has at least been performing a bit better at the plate recently. Over his last five games, the first baseman is batting .333 with an .863 OPS, and he's walked four times versus only three strikeouts. The power should come for Torkelson as long as he's seeing the ball well, and the Tigers figure to remain patient with their slugger, who delivered 31 long balls during the 2025 regular season.

Heading to bench Wednesday
Torkelson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
Análisis
Torkelson will hit the bench for just the second time in the Tigers' first 12 games of 2026. Colt Keith will cover first base in place of Torkelson, who is batting .206 with no home runs, four runs and three RBI over 42 plate appearances on the season.

Shows some life Tuesday
Torkelson went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Twins.
Análisis
While Torkelson still hasn't delivered his first home run of the season, he did muster his first multi-hit effort Tuesday. The first baseman is batting just .206 with a .622 OPS, and he's striking out 31 percent of the time. Torkelson sported a .789 OPS and blasted 31 home runs during the regular season last year, so the power potential is there and his bat could get going at any point, though strikeouts remain a prominent part of his game.
