Two hits in return
Jung went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Diamondbacks.
Análisis
Before coming off the injured list Saturday, Jung last played July 21 versus the White Sox before he was shelved by a calf strain. The injury put a damper on what was shaping up be a strong season for the third baseman. Through 93 contests, Jung is batting .295 with an .802 OPS, nine home runs, 36 RBI, 47 runs scored, 23 doubles, one triple and one stolen base.

Returns from injured list
The Rangers reinstated Jung (calf) from the injured list Saturday.
Análisis
Jung has been sidelined for almost all of the second half due to a left calf strain, but he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A on Tuesday and has since gone 3-for-15 with a homer in four games. Now fully healthy, he figures to reclaim his job as Texas' everyday third baseman. Logan O'Hoppe was sent down to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Opens rehab assignment
Jung (calf) went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI for Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.
Análisis
Jung opened a rehab assignment with the Express and played all nine innings as the designated hitter. Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that there's a plan for Jung's rehab but that could change depending on how quickly he responds to activity. With 17 games left in the regular season and Texas 1.5 games back of a wild-card spot, the Rangers might be best served to activate Jung sooner rather than later.

Beginning rehab assignment
Jung (calf) was sent to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.
Análisis
Jung hasn't seen the field since July 21 due to a strained left calf, but he's now ready for game action after recently progressing to facing live pitching. It's not clear how many rehab games the 28-year-old will require before being reinstated, but it's possible he's back with the Rangers this weekend in Arizona.
