Burnes (13-7) picked up the win Monday against the White Sox, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk across five innings. He struck out four.
Análisis
Burnes struck out four or fewer for a third straight start, but he was able to get back into the win column after taking three consecutive losses. Since the start of August, Burnes has a 6.46 ERA and a 16:8 K:BB across 30.2 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to close out a two-start week Sunday against Tampa Bay.

Burned (12-7) took the loss against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing six runs (one earned) on five hits over five innings while striking out four.
Análisis
Burnes didn't get off to the start he was hoping for as the right-hander surrendered a leadoff homer to Shohei Ohtani on a hanging slider to open the contest. The 29-year-old was then able to retire the next seven batters he faced before Enrique Hernandez reached on a fielding error by Ramon Urias. The Dodgers would go on to score four runs in the frame, topped off by a three-run homer from Teoscar Hernandez, though Burnes would only end up being charged with one earned run on the night. He's now allowed 28 runs (21 earned) over 25.2 innings in August, posting a 7.36 ERA for the month to go along with a 1-3 record. Thursday also marked the second outing this month in which he surrendered multiple home runs.
