McDaniels amassed 20 points (9-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt), 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals across 35 minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to Utah.
Analysis
McDaniels finished second on the Timberwolves in both points and rebounds Friday behind Naz Reid (27 points and 11 rebounds). McDaniels was averaging 10.5 points per game up until Jan. 31, but the fifth-year forward has taken on an increased scoring role as of late. He has recorded three double-doubles over his last four games, and he has averaged 18.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals over 37.1 minutes per game over his last 10 outings.

Nears double-double in defeat
McDaniels recorded 15 points (6-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, two steals and one assist across 37 minutes during Thursday's 111-102 loss to the Lakers.
Analysis
McDaniels finished as the club's third-leading scorer Thursday, though he was fairly inefficient in the loss. Additionally, the fifth-year pro recorded multiple steals for the 25th time this season. The 24-year-old has scored at least 15 points in each of his last five outings, during which he has averaged 20.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 39.6 minutes per game.

Leads big comeback in OT win
McDaniels racked up a team-high 27 points (9-16 FG, 9-9 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals across 42 minutes during Monday's 131-128 overtime win over Oklahoma City.
Analysis
The Timberwolves were down by 22 points heading into the fourth quarter, but McDaniels helped fuel a massive comeback that he capped by scoring five straight points inside the final minute of regulation to force OT. The double-double was his seventh of the season, but four of them have come in February as he's taken full advantage of the absence of Julius Randle (groin), including one in each end of a back-to-back set against the Thunder. Through 11 games in February, McDaniels is averaging 18.6 points, 8.3 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.3 threes, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks.

McDaniels contributed 17 points (5-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist and one block in 40 minutes during Sunday's 130-123 loss to the Thunder.
Analysis
With Donte DiVincenzo (toe), Julius Randle (groin) and Rudy Gobert (neck) all battling injuries, Minnesota is very shorthanded these days. McDaniels has been logging a ton of minutes as a result, and his usage is up as well. Over his last five games, McDaniels has produced averages of 15.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.4 three-pointers.
