Will return to lineup Saturday
Dominguez will be back in the lineup Saturday against the Red Sox, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
Dominguez is getting an off day Friday, and manager Aaron Boone says Giancarlo Stanton will be the odd man out Saturday. "That gives me two in a row with (Alex) Verdugo and yet it keeps me four or five with Dominguez," Boone said. "It's just wanting to keep guys active and playing and in rhythm." If Boone keeps this same logic, it sounds like Dominguez will play pretty regularly but not every day.

Not in starting nine
Dominguez is not in Friday's lineup against the Red Sox.
Analysis
This is the second time Dominguez will sit in five games since getting recalled from Triple-A. He did not appear off the bench in the the previous game he sat. Alex Verdugo will start in left field and bat ninth against righty Tanner Houck. Dominguez has four strikeouts and is hitting .200 in 10 at-bats since getting recalled.

Not in Wednesday's lineup
Dominguez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Royals.
Analysis
Wednesday's starter for the Royals, Cole Ragans, has been more effective against righties than lefties this season, but Dominguez will begin this one on the bench after picking up one hit in the first two games of the series. Alex Verdugo -- who also bats left-handed -- will be in left field for the finale.

Returning to majors
The Yankees recalled Dominguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday. Manager Aaron Boone said that Dominguez will start in center field and bat sixth in the Yankees' series opener versus the Royals, according to Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com.
Analysis
As Bryan Hoch of MLB.com notes, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman recently said that Dominguez wouldn't rejoin the big club if he wasn't going to play regularly, so expect the 21-year-old phenom to take on a near-everyday role in the outfield now that he's back in the majors. Dominguez impressed in a small sample of eight games with the Yankees in 2023 and has turned in a .309/.368/.480 slash line with seven home runs and 15 stolen bases in 193 plate appearances at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season after completing his recovery from Tommy John surgery.
