Belts first big-league long ball
Mangum went 2-for-5 with a home run and three total RBI against the Astros in a 16-3 victory Saturday.
Analysis
Mangum notched an RBI single in the sixth inning and added a two-run homer in the seventh. The long ball was the first of the 29-year-old's big-league career in his 23rd game. Mangum probably isn't going to become a sudden power source for the Rays -- he's never hit more than nine home runs in a professional season -- but he is slashing a cool .329/.370/.421 with eight stolen bases and just eight strikeouts through 81 plate appearances in his rookie campaign.

Analysis
Mangum was activated from the injured list Friday after missing roughly five weeks. He immediately slotted third into the lineup with lefty Framber Valdez on the mound, though he'll likely slide down the order when the Rays take on right-handed pitching.

Analysis
The 29-year-old has been sidelined by a groin strain for over a month, but he's ready to rejoin the Rays after going 9-for-21 with four walks and a double during a six-game rehab assignment. Mangum wasn't expected to be a factor for Tampa Bay to begin the season, but he took advantage of the club's outfield injuries and started his MLB career with a strong .338/.384/.397 slash line and eight steals in his first 21 games.
