Strikes out five in no-decision

Flaherty did not factor into the decision in a win over the Padres on Wednesday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over five innings while striking out five.

Analysis

Flaherty allowed four of the first six batters to reach between the first and second inning, leading to two runs coming home for San Diego over that stretch. He then went on to retire 10 of the next 12 batters he faced before coughing up a solo homer to Fernando Tatis in the fifth. It marked the third-consecutive start in which the right-hander has given up at least three runs and multiple free passes. However, he's also managed to get through at least five innings in nine of 10 outings since joining the Dodgers.

Rebounds with quality start

Flaherty (13-7) earned the win Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against the Marlins. He struck out five.

Analysis

Flaherty cruised to the victory Thursday, posting a quality start of three runs over six innings as he was provided 14 runs of support prior to his removal from the game. It was a nice rebound for Flaherty, who was pulled following completing a season-low three innings in his last start, the only time he's failed to reach five innings across 27 outings this season. Flaherty looks to be in line to make one more start this season, tentatively scheduled to take place against the Padres.
