Breakout season continues
Watson registered 25 points (9-19 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, one block and three steals over 34 minutes during Friday's 110-87 loss to Atlanta.
Analyse
Watson continues to go from strength to strength, scoring at least 20 points for the sixth straight game while also recording his second double-double of the season. Injuries to other players opened up an opportunity for Watson, and since that time, he has not looked back. In four games over the past week, he has averaged 25.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.8 three-pointers and 2.8 combined steals-plus-blocks.

Drains 30 points vs. Boston
Watson registered 30 points (10-15 FG, 6-7 3Pt, 4-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 37 minutes during the Nuggets' 114-110 win over the Celtics on Wednesday.
Analyse
It was another impressive performance from Watson, who led the Nuggets in scoring and finished with his most points in a game since Nov. 19 against the Pelicans (32). Watson has scored at least 21 points in five straight games, and over that span he has averaged 24.4 points on 51.8 percent shooting along with 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.4 threes, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks over 37.3 minutes per game. He should continue to serve in an expanded role on offense for as long as Nikola Jokic (knee) is sidelined.

Erupts for 24 points
Watson registered 24 points (7-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 8-10 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal across 44 minutes during Monday's 125-124 overtime win over the 76ers.
Analyse
With Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray, Tim Hardaway and Christian Braun all getting the night off for maintenance during the second leg of this back-to-back set, Watson was cast in an unfamiliar role with a ton of usage. He certainly delivered, combining with Jalen Pickett to put up 53 points as the Nuggets shocked the 76ers. Watson is trending up with averages of 23.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5 three-pointers over his last four games.

Stays hot with 23 points
Watson supplied 23 points (8-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 29 minutes during Sunday's 127-115 loss to Brooklyn.
Analyse
Watson is certainly heating up, with Sunday's performance being his third consecutive game with at least 20 points. The 23-year-old forward should continue to play big minutes in the Nuggets' starting lineup for as long as Cameron Johnson (knee) and Nikola Jokic (knee) are sidelined. For the campaign, Watson has averaged 14.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks in 31.1 minutes per contest across 23 games as a starter.
