Doesn't practice Saturday
Beal (knee) didn't participate in five-on-five scrimmages Saturday, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Analyse
Beal is still unable to practice in scrimmages, as he continues to nurse a knee issue. The veteran guard was expected to be limited during training camp, and he still has time to get his body right before the team plays its preseason opener against the Nuggets on Oct. 12.

Absent from team scrimmage
Beal (knee) didn't participate in Thursday's team scrimmage work, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
Analyse
This update isn't a huge surprise considering the team recently announced Beal would be limited to begin training camp. However, it certainly would be nice to see him get in on some 5-on-5 action sooner rather than later. It's currently unclear whether Beal will be available for the Clippers' first preseason game Oct. 9.

Will start at shooting guard
Beal (knee) will be the Clippers starting shooting guard, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Analyse
As expected, Beal will start in the backcourt alongside James Harden. The forward positions aren't exactly clear, though, as coach Tyronn Lue told reporters he "can't remember" if John Collins will start. Beal is limited to begin training camp due to a knee scope from May.

Limited to start training camp
Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank said Monday that Beal (knee) will be a limited participant to start training camp, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Analyse
Frank shared that Beal underwent a knee scope in May and will likely be eased into camp with his workload monitored, though he didn't express concern about his regular-season availability. The veteran guard signed a two-year deal with the Clippers this offseason after being waived by the Suns. He averaged 17.0 points, 3.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals across 53 regular-season appearances last year.
