To miss two weeks
Edwards (hamstring) will miss two weeks of action, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday.
Analyse
This is a devastating blow for Edwards' fantasy managers, and for the Timberwolves in general. Based on this initial timetable of two weeks, Edwards will miss at least the next eight regular-season games. That sets up a potential return on Nov. 14 against the Kings. Edwards' official diagnosis is a right hamstring strain after it was previously described as tightness, so it's understandable that the team is being cautious here. In the meantime, Bones Hyland, Terrence Shannon and Jaylen Clark are candidates for increased minutes for Minnesota.

Won't return Sunday
Edwards won't return to Sunday's game against the Pacers due to right hamstring tightness.
Analyse
Edwards exited to the locker room with 8:52 remaining in the opening quarter and was ruled out shortly thereafter. He'll finish with five points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and one rebound in three minutes. Bones Hyland, Terrence Shannon and Jaylen Clark are candidates for increased minutes the rest of the way. Edwards' next chance to suit up will come Monday against the Nuggets.

Heads to locker room Sunday
Edwards went to the locker room during Sunday's game against the Pacers due to an undisclosed issue, Jack Borman of CanisHoopus reports.
Analyse
Edwards left the game early in the first quarter, but there's yet to be an update on what he's dealing with. It bears noting Edwards had been dealing with back soreness ahead of the season opener, but he did not carry an injury designation into the subsequent two games, including Sunday's contest. If he is unable to return Sunday, Terrence Shannon and Bones Hyland could see extra run.

Leads Wolves with 31 points
Edwards tallied 31 points (11-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-9 FT), five assists, four rebounds and one block over 35 minutes during the Timberwolves' 128-110 loss to the Lakers on Friday.
Analyse
Edwards followed up his 41-point performance on Opening Night with another strong outing Friday to lead the Timberwolves in scoring, though his efforts were overshadowed by Luka Doncic. Edwards connected on 44.7 percent of his field-goal attempts last year and has opened the 2025-26 regular season having gone 25-for-47 on his field-goal attempts through two games. Edwards will continue to be the focal point in the Timberwolves' offense with Julius Randle the clear second option.

Drops 41 points in win
Edwards logged 41 points (14-28 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 8-8 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block across 39 minutes in Wednesday's 118-114 win over the Trail Blazers.
Analyse
Edwards scored 40 or more points in 10 regular-season games during 2024-25, and he did so in Game 1 of the 2025-26 regular season. The shooting guard hit a pair of clutch shots in the final 90 seconds of the contest, drilling a go-ahead three-pointer with 1:14 left before hitting a dagger mid-range jumper with seven seconds to go. Edwards attempted 15 more shots than any other Timberwolves player, and he tied for the team high in rebounds.

Will play vs. Portland
Edwards (back) has been cleared to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Trail Blazers, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
Analyse
Edwards has been battling back spasms, but it won't keep him off the floor. The superstar guard is coming off his best NBA season, averaging 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the field and a career-high 39.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Active at shootaround
Edwards (back) participated in Wednesday's morning shootaround, Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Analyse
It's an encouraging sign that Edwards is aiming to suit up for the season opener in Portland. The superstar guard could still be a game-time decision based on pregame warmups. If Edwards is out, Donte DiVincenzo would likely be the direct beneficiary from a fantasy perspective.

Iffy for Wednesday
Edwards (back) is questionable for Wednesday's season opener against the Trail Blazers.
Analyse
Edwards is dealing with back spasms, which could result in him sitting for the regular-season opener. If the superstar guard is unable to play, the team will likely pivot to Donte DiVincenzo and Terrence Shannon to help shoulder the load in the backcourt.
