Timeline for return still uncertain
Siri (tibia) has yet to officially be placed on the 10-day injured list, but Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that the outfielder will put little-to-no weight on his broken left leg for 10 days and is "probably three weeks" away from being ready for baseball activities, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Analyse
Mendoza didn't offer up a firm timeline for Siri to potentially resume playing in games, but because the 29-year-old is expected to be held out from baseball activity until around early-to-mid May and will need some time after that to ramp up, an early June return may be a best-case scenario. The Mets have yet to deactivate Siri, but that has more to do with roster management as the team navigates some uncertainty with its pitching staff after starter Griffin Canning (illness) was scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday against the Twins and is considered day-to-day. The Mets recalled a fresh arm from the minors (Justin Hagenman) to eat innings out of the bullpen Wednesday and optioned reliever Max Kranick to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move, but New York could place Siri on the IL on Thursday to allow Kranick to rejoin the active roster ahead of a four-game series with the Cardinals.

Looking at extended absence
Siri was diagnosed Monday with a fractured left tibia and is expected to miss extended time, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Analyse
The Mets sent Siri for additional testing Monday to determine the severity of an injury that the team had previously labeled as shin soreness. With an MRI and CT scan confirming that Siri suffered structural damage to his lower leg, the outfielder will likely be placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday and seems likely to miss multiple weeks, and he could be in store for an even lengthier absence being on tap if he needs surgery to address the injury. Tyrone Taylor will likely serve as the Mets' unquestioned everyday center fielder while Siri is on the mend.

Undergoing MRI, CT scan
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Monday that Siri (shin) is still "pretty sore" and will undergo an MRI and CT scan, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Analyse
Siri fouled a ball off his left shin Saturday against the Athletics and had to be carted off the field. He will go through tests to determine the extent of the damage and the Mets will decide after those results are in whether Siri needs to go on the 10-day injured list. Tyrone Taylor is in center field again for the Mets on Monday versus the Twins.

Out again Monday
Siri (shin) is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Minnesota.
Analyse
Siri had to be carted off the field after fouling a ball off his left shin during Saturday against the Athletics. He'll be out of the lineup for a second straight day Monday but has not been placed on the 10-day injured list to this point. Tyrone Taylor will cover center field and bat eighth in Monday's series opener.

Could be placed on IL
Siri could be placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left shin contusion, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Analyse
Siri had to be carted off the field after fouling a ball off his left leg Saturday against the Athletics. Initial tests didn't reveal any structural damage, but the 29-year-old outfielder is still using crutches and is in pain. Siri will continue to undergo testing, and if a stint on the IL is warranted, the Mets will look to Triple-A Syracuse for outfield depth.

Not in Sunday's lineup
Siri (shin) is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Analyse
Siri suffered a left shin contusion in Saturday's 3-1 loss after fouling a ball of his leg. He's considered day-to-day for the time being, though manager Carlos Mendoza said prior to Sunday's contest that Siri could be a candidate for the injured list as soon as Monday if he hasn't made much meaningful progress in his recovery by that point, per Tim Healey of Newsday. Tyrone Taylor will pick up the start in center field Sunday while Siri sits.

Diagnosed with shin contusion
Siri suffered a left shin contusion in the second inning of Saturday's game against the Athletics, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Analyse
Siri was carted off the field after fouling a ball off his left shin. Initial tests haven't revealed any structural damage, and Siri can be considered day-to-day while his bruise heals.

Exits game due to leg injury
Siri left in the second inning of Saturday's game against the Athletics due to a lower left leg injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Analyse
Siri fouled a ball off his lower left leg, and after staying on the ground for a couple of minutes, he was helped onto a golf cart by trainers and taken off the field. He'll undergo further testing in the clubhouse, and an update on his injury should be made later during or after the conclusion of Saturday's contest. Tyrone Taylor has taken over in center field following Siri's exit.
