On track for season debut next week
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Monday that Bello's (shoulder) rehab start with Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday will "most likely" be his last, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Analyse
Bello threw 64 pitches over four innings in his last rehab start and will build up more in his final rehab outing Wednesday before making his season debut with Boston next week, assuming all goes well. The right-hander has been working his way back from a strained shoulder.

One more rehab start needed
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Saturday that Bello (shoulder) will make at least one more rehab start for Triple-A Worcester, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Analyse
Bello made a third rehab start Friday, reaching 64 pitches and four innings. "He was OK. He was good," Cora said of Bello, who allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and struck out five batters Friday. "Now, we'll see how he recovers today. There's definitely one more. Definitely." There are some weather issues forecasted for Worcester's upcoming road trip, which could impact when Bello next takes the mound, but Boston's injury-ravaged rotation could use him as soon as possible with Richard Fitts (pectoral) being the latest starter to hit the IL on Sunday. Bello is tentatively scheduled to pitch Wednesday, which would put him on a path to return to the Red Sox during a series against the Mariners at Fenway Park from April 22-24.

Works four innings Friday
Bello (shoulder) allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits while striking out five over four innings for Triple-A Worcester on Friday.
Analyse
There were several positives to Bello's third rehab start, including 45 strikes among his 64 pitches. The right-hander reached 97.8 mph on his sinker (95.8 mph average), induced 12 swinging strikes and retired the final eight batters faced. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said prior to the outing that he'd like to see Bello get up to five innings before he's activated, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports. Friday's results along with the manager's comments suggest at least one more rehab start for Bello.

Next rehab outing set for Friday
Bello (shoulder) will make a third rehab start Friday for Triple-A Worcester, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Analyse
Bello threw 56 pitches over 3.1 innings for Worcester over the weekend and will look to increase his workload Friday. The Red Sox will evaluate the right-hander following the rehab start, but manager Alex Cora suggested that Bello could require another outing in the minors after that before being ready to return from the 15-day injured list. Bello has been pitching on a four-day rest schedule between starts, so a fourth rehab outing would put him on track to come off the IL as soon as April 21.
